About & Contrology

Pilates is a delicate exercise. Since 2006, I’ve been enjoying learning. — Euna

A practice built on care

IN & OUT PILATES grew out of a simple love: the quiet, focused joy of moving well. Euna Choi Miller earned her Pilates certification in 2006 and has taught students of all ages across South Korea and the United States, opening the IN & OUT PILATES studio in Springfield in 2022. That spirit of lifelong learning shapes every session here.

Our studio is a warm, welcoming space where you're met exactly where you are. Whether you arrive as a complete beginner or a seasoned practitioner, you'll find patient guidance, genuine encouragement, and a community that cheers you on.

With five Pilates machines for both private and group work — plus online options via Zoom — there's a place for everyone to restore body and spirit.

The art of control

The principles of Contrology

Joseph Pilates called his method "Contrology" — the art of controlled movement. These principles guide everything we practice.

◐

Concentration

Bring full attention to each movement. Mind and body work as one, with intention behind every breath.

◉

Control

Move with purpose, never momentum. Control creates safety, precision, and lasting strength.

✦

Centering

Everything begins from your core — the "powerhouse" that stabilizes and powers the whole body.

⊹

Precision

Quality over quantity. Each exercise is done deliberately and exactly, so every rep counts.

~

Breath

Full, conscious breathing fuels your muscles, calms the mind, and connects movement to flow.

∿

Flow

Movements link together with grace and ease, building stamina and a sense of effortless motion.
